Matariki

Matariki

Matariki shines like a diamond.  If you look up at the dawn sky in early June you will find Matariki.
Matariki is a cluster of 7 stars also known as the 7 Sisters.
They shine as bright as a crystal.
They ZOOM across the sky like dancing ballerinas.
All seven stars are beautiful like a full moon.
It is a Maori new year.

Matariki

As I look up into the sky I see Matariki dancing like a ballerina.

The Seven Sisters start glowing like diamonds in the dawn sky shimmering and sparkling.

BOOM, POP, CRACK the beautiful blue and black shades beam out brightly like a patterned painting using neon colours.

I imagine touching Matariki holding it in my bare hands fluttering around trying to escape like a butterfly caught in a net.

They sit there blinking and twinkling through my mind, taking over my brain with beauty.

Then suddenly they whoosh, away leaving me with beautiful and amazing thoughts of them trailing threw my mind.

Matariki is gorgeous.

Matariki

Matariki moves magnificently across the gleaming sky.
With its 7 blue angels speeding through space ZOOM.
It’s as pretty as the Milky Way, isn’t it?
One day I would like to go and meet the 7 Sisters.

WELCOME BACK

(YAY)

In the past few weeks, Room 5 has been writing speeches.
Some of them were FUNNY, some of them were SAD and some of them we INTERESTING.

Last Sunday the Invercargill Middle school aerobics team represented us at the aerobics and hip-hop festival.
They were FABULOUS!
We had two teams, a senior team and a junior team.

Tomorrow the 18th of June 2014, teachers will choose some kids to compete in the seniors speech competition to see who will go to compete with other schools.
Also tomorrow Heather, Josiah, Krystal, Alyssa and I, Matia will be competing at a spelling competition called South Spell which is held at James Hargest.

Thank You for listening,
Matia and Alyssa :)
